About HeyHikers

A Dehradun-born trekking company on a simple mission — to take you safely into the heart of the Himalayas with leaders who care, support that never sleeps, and a deep respect for the mountains.

Who we are

HeyHikers is a Dehradun-based trekking company running guided Himalayan expeditions across the Garhwal, Kumaon, and Himachal ranges. Born in the foothills of Uttarakhand and built by people who grew up walking these trails, we are a small, owner-operated team that treats every trekker like a guest, not a booking. From a weekend on Nag Tibba to a high-altitude crossing like Bali Pass, every journey is planned, led, and cared for by us — start to finish.

We began with one belief: that anyone who dreams of the Himalayas deserves to experience them safely, honestly, and without compromise. Today that belief has grown into a company trusted by tens of thousands of happy trekkers — and it still guides every decision we make.

Meet the people behind HeyHikers

HeyHikers is owner-operated, which means when you trek with us you are dealing directly with the people whose name is on the company. They have personally walked every route we offer.

Happy Trekkers

What you get on every HeyHikers trek

A trek with us is more than a route on a map. From the moment you reach out to the moment you get home, you are looked after by a team whose only job is to keep you safe, comfortable, and smiling. Here is what comes with every departure:

Certified Trek Leaders

Every batch is led by a NIM- or ABVIMAS-certified mountaineer trained as a Wilderness First Responder.

24×7 On-Trail Support

Round-the-clock assistance before, during and after your trek. From your first enquiry to your safe return home, someone is always reachable.

Medical & Safety Gear

Supplemental oxygen, pulse oximeters, comprehensive first-aid kits and evacuation plans on every high-altitude departure.

Warm Camps & Hot Meals

Quality tents, clean sleeping bags, and fresh, hygienic vegetarian meals cooked at camp to keep you fuelled and cared for.

Small, Caring Groups

We cap batch sizes so every trekker gets genuine attention, encouragement and the right pace on the trail.

Local Garhwali Guides

Supported by guides who grew up on these very trails and know every turn, stream and shortcut.

Transport & Permits

Base-to-base transport, forest permits and all on-ground logistics are arranged for you — just turn up and trek.

End-to-End Planning

We handle the whole journey — itinerary, fitness guidance, packing help and constant communication so you never feel lost.

Support & care that never sleeps

The mountains don't keep office hours, and neither do we. Our 24×7 support means there is always a real person to talk to — whether you are planning your first trek at midnight, worried about your fitness the week before, or need help on the trail itself. Our leaders watch every trekker closely for signs of altitude sickness, fatigue, or discomfort, and adjust the pace so no one is ever left behind.

We carry supplemental oxygen and pulse oximeters on high-altitude treks and follow a strict turn-around protocol — no summit is worth pushing a tired or unwell trekker through. Your safety and comfort always come before the schedule.

Our sales & support team

The people who answer your calls and messages are trekkers themselves. When you reach out, you speak to someone who has stood at the same trailheads, faced the same altitude, and knows exactly what you are signing up for. They will help you pick the right trek for your fitness and experience, sort out logistics and permits, and stay in touch with your group throughout the journey. Honest advice, no pushy sales — if a trek isn't right for you, we'll tell you.

Where we trek

  • Uttarakhand — treks across Garhwal and Kumaon, including Kedarkantha, Kuari Pass, Roopkund, Valley of Flowers, Nag Tibba and Bali Pass.
  • Himachal Pradesh — treks across Kullu, Kangra, Lahaul, Spiti and Kinnaur, including Hampta Pass, Pin Parvati Pass, Triund and Bhrigu Lake.

We don't run a single trek we haven't personally scouted, so the itinerary you book is the trail we actually know.

Certified, experienced trek leaders

Every batch is led by a mountaineer certified by either the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM, Uttarkashi) or the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering (ABVIMAS, Manali). All carry current Wilderness First Responder certifications, and our basecamp staff average 8 years of experience on the trails we run. No freelancers, no last-minute substitutions — just people who love these mountains as much as you will.

How we treat the mountains

We follow a strict Leave No Trace protocol on every trek. All non-biodegradable waste is carried back to the roadhead, we use existing campsites and never cut new ones, and we pay local porters at standard rates set by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. Wherever we can, we use shared transport, source food locally, and stay in village homestays — so tourism strengthens these communities instead of scarring them.
