Overview
Kedarnath & Badrinath — Two Dham in Five Days
This package combines two of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites into a seamless five-day circuit — Kedarnath (11,755 ft) dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Badrinath (10,170 ft) dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Both are among the most sacred sites in the Hindu tradition; visiting both in a single journey is considered one of the most meritorious acts in the pilgrimage calendar. The route follows the Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers through the heart of the Garhwal Himalaya — every section of road passes through landscapes that have sustained pilgrimage for two millennia.
Kedarnath
The Kedarnath Jyotirlinga temple (8th-century, attributed to Adi Shankaracharya) at 11,755 ft is accessed by a 16 km trek from Gaurikund. The temple is framed by the Kedarnath glacier and peak — a setting of wild grandeur that no photograph fully conveys. The 2013 disaster and subsequent reconstruction has made the infrastructure more robust; the trail is well-paved and well-managed.
Badrinath
Badrinath temple (10,170 ft) sits in the Alaknanda valley below Neelkantha peak (21,640 ft) — a colourful, towering structure in classical Garhwali architecture. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu in his Badri form (a meditative posture under a Badri berry tree). The Tapt Kund — a natural hot spring beside the Alaknanda — is used for ritual bathing before temple entry. Mana village, 3 km from Badrinath, is the last Indian village before the Tibet border and holds several Puranic sites (Vyas Guha, Bhim Pul, Saraswati river confluence).

What trekkers say
"I'd never camped in snow before. The HeyHikers team made me feel safe every single step. The summit sunrise — standing at 12,500 ft watching peaks turn gold — I cried. Not from the cold. From the beauty."

"Seven lakes, each more unreal than the last. The logistics were flawless — the food at 13,000 ft was better than most restaurants I know. Our guide Farooq knew every stone on the trail. Doing Goechala with them next."
